In Ecclesiastes 6:2 I learn that wealth, possessions and honor are meaningless if one does not have the ability to enjoy them. It teaches me that God is the one who gives the ability to enjoy what we have. This benefits us by reminding us that true happiness is not in accumulating riches, but in enjoying the blessings Jehovah gives us, whether they are many or few. It motivates us to be thankful and to find joy in what we already have.

In Ecclesiastes 6:3-5 it teaches me that a long life without joy is worse than being stillborn. A stillborn baby does not know the suffering and anguish of this world, while a person who lives long but does not enjoy his life ultimately experiences only great emptiness. This benefits us by motivating us to live each day to the fullest, seeking happiness in serving Jehovah and in the small blessings He gives us, instead of wasting our life chasing things of no value.

In Ecclesiastes 6:7 there is a very important gem: a man’s hard work is to fill his mouth, but his appetite is never satisfied. It teaches me that the desire for more possessions and pleasures is insatiable. This benefits us by warning us of the futility of excessive ambition, reminding us that the human heart will always want more if it does not find its fullness in Jehovah.
Comment 4
In Ecclesiastes 6:9 I learn that it is better to enjoy what the eyes see than to wander about chasing desires. It teaches me that true satisfaction is not in constantly seeking new things, but in finding joy in the present. Contemplating and appreciating what we already have is much more valuable than the incessant pursuit of what we do not possess. This benefits us by encouraging us to be more grateful for the blessings around us, which brings genuine peace and joy.
Comment 5
In Ecclesiastes 6:10 I learn that we cannot fight against what is already established, “man cannot contend with the one stronger than he.” It teaches me that man has limits and that there is a God who has control over everything. This benefits us by reminding us of our humility and Jehovah’s sovereignty, encouraging us to submit to His will and not try to fight against His unchangeable purpose.
Comment 6
In Ecclesiastes 6:12 there is a gem that sums up the chapter: who knows what is good for a man to do during the few days of his fleeting life? It teaches me that from a purely human perspective, it is impossible to know what is best for us in life. This benefits us by reminding us of our complete dependence on Jehovah. It drives us to seek His guidance through His Word and His organization, as He is the only one who can give us true purpose in this brief and fleeting life.
