Jeremiah 26:2
In Jeremiah 26:2 I am struck that Jehovah gave clear instructions before Jeremiah faced opposition. He did not leave his servant guessing about what to do. I see a God who prepares his servants for difficult assignments and gives definite direction. When an assignment intimidates me, I can first look for his principles and move ahead knowing that I am not acting without guidance.
In Jeremiah 26:2 I am encouraged to prepare carefully when I need to have a delicate spiritual conversation. I can review the scriptures, think about respectful wording, and ask for courage in prayer. Preparation may not remove nervousness, but it can keep fear from making me omit the necessary point. I want clarity and kindness to work together when I speak about important matters.
In Jeremiah 26:2 I learn that delivering Jehovah’s message calls for complete faithfulness, not selecting only what feels comfortable to say. Jeremiah was instructed to communicate the whole message. That teaches me to respect the Bible’s meaning even when a point is unpopular. In the ministry, I want to be tactful without softening a truth so much that I change what it actually means.
