Reflection for today
Keeping Jehovah “before me constantly” sounds like a mental habit: bringing him into the decision before pressure chooses for me. It is easier to act from conviction when I have already asked what pleases him than when I wait until emotions, fear, or other people’s opinions become loud.
Bible accounts can train that habit. I can picture myself standing among the Israelites while ten respected men give a frightening report about the land. Their conclusion had numbers and emotion on its side. Joshua and Caleb had something stronger: confidence in what Jehovah had promised. That contrast helps me remember that a majority can sound convincing and still be wrong.
A practical application is to build a short pause into choices that affect my conscience. Before replying to a provocative message, accepting an opportunity, choosing entertainment, or following a crowd, I can ask, “Which option would make sense if Jehovah’s presence felt completely real to me right now?”
That question is not imaginary in the important sense. Jehovah does see me, understands the pressure, and cares about the choice.
Keeping him at my right hand does not mean I will never feel nervous or uncertain. It means those feelings do not become my highest authority. The more often I deliberately place Jehovah first in small decisions, the steadier I become when a larger test suddenly arrives.
