Reflection for today
Jehovah’s ability to reveal secrets gives me confidence, but it also teaches restraint. Bible prophecy provides a meaningful outline of his purpose, yet it does not satisfy every curiosity about the future. That is actually reassuring. My faith does not depend on decoding every headline or predicting exactly how each event will unfold.
There is a temptation to turn uncertainty into speculation. When world events are dramatic, I may want to connect each development to a prophetic detail immediately. But humility allows me to separate what Scripture clearly says from what I merely think might happen. Saying “we do not know yet” is not spiritual weakness; it can be evidence of respect for Jehovah’s timetable.
A practical safeguard is to ask two questions when I hear a confident claim about prophecy: “What does the Bible explicitly establish?” and “What part of this is interpretation or assumption?” Those questions can keep excitement from becoming anxiety.
Prophecy should move me toward faithfulness, not constant guessing. The important truths are already powerful: Jehovah knows where history is going, his Kingdom will accomplish his purpose, and he can give his servants whatever information they need at the proper time.
I do not need tomorrow’s full map in order to walk faithfully today. Trusting the Revealer of secrets means studying what he has revealed and patiently leaving the unrevealed details with him.
