John Receives a Revelation
Full reading
How many visions does John see?
John receives a series of revelations while he is imprisoned on Patmos.
John sees a total of 16 visions or prophetic pictures of the future. Through them, Jesus reveals how Jehovah’s name will be sanctified, how the Kingdom will act, and how Satan’s system will end.
These visions show that Revelation is not a random set of symbols. It is an organized message that strengthens hope and confidence in Jehovah’s purpose.
What will Jesus do at Armageddon?
John also sees the final war against Satan’s world.
At Armageddon, Jesus will lead his heavenly army and completely defeat Satan’s wicked world. His victory will cleanse the earth of wickedness and open the way for Paradise.
Along with destroying the enemy system, Jesus will preserve the great crowd and make sure Jehovah’s name is fully vindicated.
Final scriptures
Genesis 3:15
The first prophecy in the Bible reaches its full outcome in these visions: the promised offspring completely crushes Satan and restores peace.
Revelation 7:9, 14
The great crowd shows that Jehovah is already gathering people from all nations to survive the great tribulation.
Practical lessons
Practical lessons 1
Even though John was isolated on Patmos, Jehovah kept strengthening him. This reminds us that illness, persecution, or loneliness cannot cut off our friendship with God.
Practical lessons 2
The vision of the angel declaring the good news gives us courage to preach boldly, knowing that we have the invisible support of the angels.
Practical lessons 3
The contrast between the “woe” on earth and the final vision of peace helps us endure bad world conditions without losing focus on the Kingdom.
Practical lessons 4
The example of the 24 elders teaches humility: every privilege and every honor should be directed to Jehovah, not to ourselves.

Lesson 103
1. Jehovah promised: “There will be no more tears, pain, sickness, or death. I will wipe every tear from their eyes. The bad things of the past will no longer be remembered.”
2. Jehovah placed Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden so that they could live happily and peacefully. They were to worship their heavenly Father and have many children to fill the earth. Adam and Eve disobeyed Jehovah, but what he set out to do has not changed. In this book we have seen that God always keeps his promises. His Kingdom will bring wonderful blessings to the earth, and in that way what he promised Abraham will be fulfilled.
3. Very soon Satan, his demons, and wicked people will be gone. Everyone will worship Jehovah. We will not get sick or die. Instead, we will wake up every day full of energy and happy to be alive. The earth will become a paradise. Everyone will enjoy plenty of food and good homes. There will be no cruel or violent people; everyone will be good. Wild animals will not be afraid of us, and we will not be afraid of them.
4. It will be thrilling when Jehovah begins to resurrect those who have died. We will welcome back people from the past such as Abel, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Moses, Ruth, Esther, and David. They will help turn the earth into a paradise. There will always be many exciting things to do.
5. Jehovah wants you to live in Paradise. There we will learn many things about God that we have never even imagined. So let us keep drawing closer to Jehovah every day, now and forever!
What will life on earth be like under God’s Kingdom?
The lesson describes what life will be like when God’s Kingdom rules over the entire earth.
Life under the Kingdom will be wonderful. There will be no pain, sickness, poverty, violence, or death. Every day we will enjoy perfect health, energy, and complete peace in a real paradise.
Peace will not exist only among humans. There will also be harmony with animals, abundant food, and secure homes for everyone.
Of all the people we have read about in this book, whom would you like to meet in Paradise?
The resurrection hope makes the promised future very real.
Each person may think of someone different, but the main idea is that Paradise will let us meet faithful servants from the past and learn from them. That makes our hope even more personal and exciting.
Thinking about speaking with Paul, Joshua, Ruth, David, or our resurrected loved ones strengthens our desire to stay faithful now so that we can be there.
Final scriptures
Revelation 21:3, 4
Jehovah will permanently remove pain, tears, and death. This promise helps us view present trials as temporary.
Isaiah 11:6-9
The prophecy shows peace between animals and humans and confirms that true world peace comes only under God’s Kingdom.
John 17:3
Everlasting life is tied to knowing Jehovah and his Son. That is why we must strengthen that friendship right now.

A help for your personal preparation
These comments are support ideas for preparing a participation in the midweek meeting. Please keep using the official publications and use these suggestions as a guide for organizing your own thoughts with respect, clarity, and sincerity.
1. While the apostle John was imprisoned on the island of Patmos, Jesus showed him 16 visions or pictures of the future. In those visions, John saw how Jehovah’s name will be sanctified, how his Kingdom will come, and how his will is to be done on earth as in heaven.
2. In one vision, John sees Jehovah on his glorious throne in heaven. Around the throne are 24 elders wearing white robes and golden crowns. From the throne come flashes like lightning and sounds like thunder. The 24 elders bow down before Jehovah and worship him. In another vision, John sees a great crowd from all nations, tribes, and languages worshipping Jehovah. The Lamb, Jesus, is their shepherd and guides them to waters of life. In another vision, Jesus begins ruling as King in heaven together with the 24 elders. Then John sees Jesus fighting against the Dragon, Satan, and his demons. Jesus throws them out of heaven down to the earth.
3. Later, John sees a beautiful vision of the Lamb and the 144,000 standing on Mount Zion. He also sees an angel flying in midheaven saying: “Fear God and give him glory.”
4. In another vision, John sees the war of Armageddon. In that war, Jesus and his army defeat Satan’s wicked world. In the final vision, John sees perfect harmony in heaven and on earth, with everyone living in peace and unity. He also sees the destruction of Satan and his offspring, that is, those who follow him. In heaven and on earth, everyone treats Jehovah’s name as holy and worships only him.
